Anyone who is in this area, please I need a little help.
Long story short, my nephew-in-law who was in Iraq was injured. Not life-threatening, but serious enough (a leg injury) that they had to do surgery and he is now state-side for recuperation. Thankfully he will NOT be returning to Iraq.
Right now he's at Fort Riley and I would love, love, love to be able to make some arrangements to get my niece up there to be with him, even if only for a few days because it has been more than a year since they saw one another.
What I need to know is what weekly type hotels there are with a kitchenette in the area? What the rates are like.
Where would she have to fly into and would she need a rental car or could she get there by bus or is that a bad idea?
What do you recommend?
Do you know anything about the base, the Red Cross in the area that she might contact for help in finding housing while she is there? Anything like that about the area.
Please keep in mind these are two kids with next to nothing in funds and she's very young and will be traveling alone.
Any info or advice you can give about the area would be GREATLY appreciated. I'd really like to get her there to be with him.
God bless our Soldiers!

I pray that someone else has an idea!
I'm just glad we have one of them home safe. The other is due home in April and I just keep praying.
If so, HERE is a link to motels closest and you can check prices . . . $70 to $100 or so. Also call and see if there's a military discount and maybe a discount for a weekly rate?
Give 'em my best!

I'll keep praying that she gets to see him and soon. That should have been the FRG's first priority.
Thanks to Doyle being the man in the know, we found a great place for her to stay right off base and within a few minutes of him. He won't get leave for another month, but this will definitely give them the opportunity to get reacquainted and spend time together without anyone else around. EXACTLY what these two need.
I'm so glad he's home!
I just spoke on the phone with a fellow Gatherite who works in the area and KNEW STUFF! Very important stuff that may just be exactly what my niece needs to get herself all lined up to stay with her Soldier!
A. K. THANK YOU for contacting me and helping me. I hope you have the most wonderful day today!
ANY time Dina . . . and I REALLY mean that!
WOOOO HOOOO Spanks . . . Wooo Hooo! :)
