The raging of the north winds
Crashing sounds from the great seas,
Dark clouds threaten overhead
T'was the end of you and me.
The pelting rain increases
Lightning sharply cracks the sky.
My heart painfully breaking
Crying out, "Oh God Oh why?"
You have left me forever
I never planned for this day
When death came to the door
Carrying you so far away.
I cry out your name, "Jesus
What ever did go wrong?
I thought you were perfect?
Now where do I belong?
I thought you were God's son
I thought you'd save the day
But you just let them kill you
Why did they get their way?
Days later I cry by your tomb
All this just breaks my heart
You said you'd go away
I didn't think you would depart."
"Don't cry my dear beloved
Don't be alarmed it is just me"
a man said as he walked near.
"Tell me who it is you see."
I knew the eyes of this man.
His voice I could not believe.
I said, "It's a miracle "
Jesus stands in front of me.
How can you be alive?
I saw you die that day,
I thought it was forever
That you had gone away"
Jesus spoke again kind words
With a large smile on his face
"Yes, I died but I came back
To show all the human race...
You can have life eternal
One day you can rise with me,
It's as real as this stone was
Rolled away to set me free.
Don't ever forget my love,
Don't forget that I live on
Don't forget God your Father,
Sent down to you his son
Accept my gift of life
I died to set you free
Soon we'll dwell in paradise
Living on for eternity.
You are all my beloved
For your sins my blood was shed
You now are all forgiven
No more price is on your head.
Go forth and spread my words
For sea to shining sea
For the whole world will hear
The captives are now set free.
One day I'll return for you,
Clothed in Glory in the sky
All mine will rise with me
They will never have to die.
Always hope for that day
When the Fathers plan is done.
Abiding in love forever,
When life on Earth is done."
I wrote this friday night and read it before my witness on my ladies weekend on Saturday. As I read this poem it began thundering and lightening and heavy rain poured and the ladies themselves pointed this out to me.
