Beyond Nevada and South Carolina

It was a big weekend for the candidates with evangelicals, labor and Latinos all weighing in. And while Latinos spoke largely with one voice, favoring Hillary three to one, labor struggled to walk in lock step, and evangelicals could agree on little more than the party they favored.

These are big players, speaking for the first time in the weekend's big votes.

What do you make of the split among evangelicals in South Carolina? What about the Latino endorsement of Hillary? Or labor's role in the upcoming primaries?

We try too hard to classify people into voting groups.For exampple if the voter a woman, union member, African-American, a mother of active duty soldier in Iraq, and an evangelical Christian. If so how do you predict her vote? Clintonbecause women support Clincton. Obama because of her race? Huckabee because of her faith? A democrat because of her union membership? Or McCain for his support for the troops? You can't pigeon hole voters and that is why you see "splits" within defined groups and polls that are wrong. About the only group I would bet you could absolutely predict is Mormons for Romney.

I agree with Linda, you can't define a groups decision. This is why the polls are usually wrong and I don't go by them

Latino's have the same stake in the elections as organized labor. They are politically stupid if they don't understand that. Illegal immigration has been condoned by big business, it saves them money and drives the American economy under. Our differences need to be reconciled if we are to wrest the Presidency from those that do not understand the separation of church and state or respect the rights of non-religous Americans.

I agree with Linda and Rachel. People are going to vote how they're going to vote, regardless of how the news and poles say they will or should - which is great. People thinking for themselves is what this country is all about.
