1. Your genre(s)?
Primarily literary fiction, some sci-fi and fantasy
2. How many books have you completed?
One novel, one short story collection, two poery chapbooks.
3. How many books are you working on now?
None at the moment- but I have two unfinished novels and a slew of short stories that could probably be made into something someday.
4. Are you a linear or chunk writer?
Depends on what I'm writing - Michael's Story was written in chunks, for example - out of choronological order. Tequila Sunset was written linear.
5. The POV you're most partial to?
Depends entirely on the story I'm trying to tell. I have a lot of first person shorts, but most works of longer length I did third.
6. The theme that keeps cropping up in your books?
Self discovery , inner strength - the resolution of some issue that seems external but turns out to be at least partially internal. Isolation. Former glory. A lot of them seem to involve road trips, or travel.
7. How many days a week do you write?
Almost every day I write something - not necessarily anything for public consumption or on a project, but at least I'm doing a lot of creative things again - including some little character story pieces. So it's all good.
8. What time of day do you get your best writing done?
At night, when the kids are sleeping and the house is quiet.
9. Who are your inspirations?
Musicians. My friend Daniel who makes me think deeply of things. Aus, always. Niki and Jim. Lately, a new friend Jeffie who has an amazing skill with characterization and description has been inspiring me to develop and detail a character again. Anyone and everyone. Observing and participating in life.
10. Who are your favorite authors to read?
Overall, in my life Vonegutt and Bach have been my favorites. But really, anything I can get my hands on - non fiction, fiction of all genres. It doesn't often matter who wrote it, I get something out of almost everything I read.
