Facebook, AceBucks

Just wondering if anyone uses facebook, and their web based "money" system called acebucks.  

 

If so, how ligit is it?  I see people selling x-box 360's for like 50k ace bucks which seems way to cheap since acebucks are relitivly easy to get (though it would take a while to get that many).  

 

I don't want to spend all I have and not get an item.

 

Also, if any of you have an acebucks account but don't use the acebucks I would love to get them from you!  Send me a message and I'll give you my acebucks account so you can send them over!

I quit using Facebook when I became a teacher. I haven't heard of them either. Interesting, though.

There are two ways to get real items off of acebucks. The first way, and guarenteed way i might add, is through actions the acebucks company holds. If you win, you receive the item after coughing up the acebucks, free of shipping charge.(correct me if I'm wrong)
The other way is through user's stores. Here, shipping will have to be paid for by you, unless the seller says otherwise. This is a risk. While there are safeguards to make sure that all sales are legit, I'm sure that there are some less than honest people "selling" things. If you have a problem though, email the acebuck company, and they'll probably sort it out. Hope I helped, and have fun on acebucks!

I haven't heard of this before, but obviously FaceBook is a known concept. I would question the legitimacy soley on the fact that general public recognizes FaceBook but most of the people here don't recognize that currency.

I've never used Facebook, nor have I used Acebucks before. I'm not sure what to recommend, but to be careful on spending money and not knowing if you will receive an item.

I've always used this website for electronics, gift cards, etc. You get points and can cash them in for your item (of your choice), XBox, Gift cards, pc's, etc. I've always had good experience and the forums are usually fun. ;)

I joined at the request of a friend--have several connections in there but I don't blog there the way I do on other sites. Never heard of Acebucks either. Hmm. Better check to see what my son's sold in there. LOL

I guess I had Facebook amnesia. I apparently did sign up for it. I don't know when, though. It was only yesterday when I received a connection request from a friend that I found out I was already signed up on Facebook. Like Marta, I am having difficulties navigating Facebook. I think the most interesting thing about your article is that only a sprinkling of us have a facebook account (I don't). Considering how much Microsoft paid to acquire it, it should be 'the bomb', not a dud.

I read up a little on AceBucks, kind of a cross between Gather dollars and PayPal (only not real dollars. I've traded in my Gather points for steaks and to donate to charities.

Looks like the final kicker is that if I was to create a FaceBook page, I could set up an AceBook feature to award people for stopping by, or whatever. So you can receive and give out AceBooks, that's cool.

My step-daughter is a member of a Gaia (Japanese comic dramas, I think) and they award points for things she does online just like Gather points. But on her site, she can buy virtual stuff with her virtual money for her virtual people.

Ok, Microsoft did not acquire Facebook. They have an steak on Facebook which, by the way, prevented Facebook from becoming public. I do have an account of Facebook, but just like the other friends I do not know about Acebucks. I did some research on some of the social sites. This is how I found this one. while doing my research on Facebook. I did not come across anything about Acebucks. I will try to find out and wite my findings when I do. Do not hold your breath. It takes me a while to do things. Thanks

I just discovered Flickr. We're going to use it to allow potential puppy buyers to peruse pictures of the parents and other litters. They allow three 'sets' of pictures at no cost.
