I hate hyperlinks too but thought this one was worth it.  With so much negativity about pretty much everything in the world right now I watched this on the news and somehow felt better about life.

 

IMO these 2 men went above and beyond risking their own lives.

The world needs more people like this.

Rather odd to read an article about such grand heroism, then to see the first comments about police corruption... the one kinda brings a downer to the other...

But I still salute our "boys in blue"!

Just this morning on I-80 west in Iowa City, there was an overturned semi in the middle of the road. Coralville and Iowa City police cars on the scene (among other emergency and DOT vehicles)...

Those two officers will deserve the commendations they get. Both of those officers probably hold a second job of some sort in order to make ends meet. Police are just not in it for the money. They are there for much higher reasons like this.

That's what they are paid to do. Finally, instead of five fat airport "police" doing belly flops on some poor mentally ill lady, and then having the nerve to claim she strangled herself to death; or some highway cowboy cop tasering a man in front of his family -oh he was getting ready to draw his gun, or how many others. Then it should be noted they dragged him accross at least 50' of ashphalt, no doubt severly abrading his heels. Arn't they taught how to carry. Heros---no! Poorly doing their job.

Lori, I saw this on the evening news also. I feel any man who serves as a law officer and risks his own life for the money they make are heroes. There are good and bad in every walk of life, but it is really nice to hear about the good, it seems the negative actions of some are more interesting than the guy who tries to protect and serve.
