I just read an article by Dan that people should see what the people that are running for president stance's on the issues are. And I looked up the candidate that I am voting for and I saw this quote that I thought was great!
No candidate should become the spokesman for his faith. For if hebecomes president he will need the prayers of the people of all faiths.![]()

So true! I think that Mitt Romney will make a great president & he will be open to all beliefs. I have heard people are worried that he will force his religion on others & that is so not true at all. We don't force people to join. ;o)
Yes I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (AKA: Mormon, LDS.) There are people on Gather that profess that they know the church history & they share what they think they know about the religion...when they aren't members themselves, but their family was...that doesn't make someone an expert on the religion. And a lot of the misinformation is from people that have been offended by people or have left the church for other reasons & usually with that leaves bitterness & causes someone to want to push others away from it. I find that very sad & I wish that they had a momma like I did that explained to me at the young age of 12 that it isn't the people we go to church for...it is the gospel & what Jesus Christ did for us. She basicly shared her testimony for me and it helped me to understand more of the church.
I have to share that I am very thankful for my membership in this church and I wouldn't have it any other way. My parents were pretty open and allowed me to go to church with other friends and I just didn't get that feeling like I did at the LDS church. It wasn't until I was 20 that I truly had a testimony of the Book of Mormon and the church itself. Before that I based it on what my parent's beliefs were. I hadn't fully read and comprehended the Book of Mormon before I was 20, and I grew up in the church. My eyes were open & I truly felt the spirit and knew it was right. And I knew that one man didn't write it...as I read I knew that each person's book inside the book was their part of the journal kept on their family and life. When reading you can see the different styles in writing and so that right there I knew it was right. I also prayed as I read them and really felt the spirit and got many answer to my prayers. And what kicked my butt into gear to finally read it and know more of the religion I grew up in you ask?? I had a confrontation from a friend of my brother's 1st wife (his 1st wife shacked up with the wedding singer, literally...) and this confrontation scared me and made me realize I had no clue what my religion was about! So I set out to know for myself, and I found that what I was taught all of my life was and is true.
I don't judge other's for their religions and I think that if you believe in something than great! If it helps you to know who you are & that you are loved then good!
Connie and George have written wonderful articles (Connie's & George's) that have questions answered that a lot of people ask about our faith. If you want to ask a question here feel free, but check their articles out if you wish ;o). I won't bible bash and I would only appreciate kind comments. I may be a "Mormon," but I am a person also and with that I would expect respect ;o). Thank you!

He was very right - any President elect will need the prayers of all - Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu... This country was never about ONE religion. A motivation for a large number of settlers to this country was religious tolerance, and we did our best to guarantee such in our constitution.
This is a great quote. Kennedy got a lot of flack for being Catholic, too.
