Thanks, between this and Barbary's flowers, it seems like spring.
A breath of summer while snow is flying outside. We've had an inch so far but they are predicting more of the same the next few days with temperatures plummeting to 20 below zero come Friday night. BRRRrr.
(And JFW had to make us all green with his park where the flowers are "still in bloom in Mediterranean Andalucia" )
God I just love roses. My all-time fav is Don Juan and perhaps Golden Celebration runs a close second. Thanks for the great pics.
I have lots of roses in my gardens - and two rose arbours. I prefer the Bourbon and Old English varieties - but love the modern English old-fashioned styles of Peter Beales Roses and David Austin roses. I insist that all roses in the gardens must earn their keep, ie must have deep scent and be any colours except red, orange or deep peach!
Your rose photos rival those in my favorite rose catalogue from Wayside Gardens.
The whorls and petal placement of a rose must be one of nature's finest accomplishments.
And thank you, dear jessie, for your recent comment on an article of mine.
I hit my 50th on Valentine's Day ~ maybe I'm only 1/2 way through life?
Thanks for sharing the photos.
