A WALK TO THE BEACH

Come for a first walk with me today. We will take more in the days to come - this is just the beginning! I spent six days on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, up on the Panhandle. The sand is like icing sugar and the water is clear up close and stunning shades of blue farther out, depending on the time of day. Close by was a bay. Look for more trips to to the beach and other places in the coming days - I came back with 999 photos. Some of them aren't worth keeping, but a surprising number of them are! Enjoy!

AH... such beauty- and warmth!!!! I think that is either a sea urchin, or perhaps an anemonie (sp)...one of those critters.

White sand beaches.... isn't that amazing! It is just like sugar....
and the warmth between the toes....

That's lovely. One of the picture you said you didn't know what it is, is a sea urchin..a delicacy in Japan. Great essay and thanks for the lovely stroll down he seashore.

Been in Florida almost a year now and have yet to makei the the beach! Lived on an island beach front for almost fouryears and long to return!!

Cristina, I live near the ocean and absolutely love it. I try to visit the beach at least once a day if I can manage to get there. What a treat these photos are of a beach elsewhere. What a special visit it must have been for you.

seaurchins, jelly fish, I used to live in the Virgin Islands, the pictures are making me miss being there. Wish I could afford a vacation!

Jellyfish are good with peanut butter. That round blackish thing looks like a sea urchin and I warn you not to touch it, although the one in your photo is probably dead. Sea urchins have mildly poisonous spikes which are very painful. Be careful not to stick your feet under rocks when in the ocean! These are great photos. I guess you are in Northern Florida. Be careful if you go inland and see any squatter camps or tent cities. These can be very dangerous places.

Wow, What an amazing trip to the beach.. Always my favorite place to be. I really enjoyed your photos' and your inspiration... it's 17 degrees outside now I would really rather be on the warm sunny beach..
