. . . On a theme.
The VOAT group posts a photo and allows people to work variations of it . . .unlocking the ability of people to apply their imagination to the shot. The base shot here was from my very good friend (and co-Defendent) Gayle. Ok . . . but she'd BE my co-defendent if the occasion called for it! The theme, street shots started like this:

Looking at the photo to get an idea of where I wanted to go I was struck with the fact that (not surprisingly) it was quite well composed. A rainy day street image and it looked like someone walking for gas? Hmmmmm . . . .
My first thought was to saturate the colors and pull in the greens . . . and noting the sky lacked any resemblance of drama I though I should 'Fix' it. THEN . . . I thought the focus is the winding wet road. How to draw attention to the wet road and solitary walker? By draining the life from the rest . . . that's how! So I added some blue to the sky and pulled out the sky and green foliage colors by a slow drain . . . using an NX conversion and a color filter . . . so that I had a pretty good B&W. Using PS Elements 6, I put the road back to it's basic form . . . added contrast and enhance the yellow and (to a lesser extent) the blue . . . using an unsharp mask on those colors only at 11 with a 20% intensity. I built the frame with PS E6 and viola . . . mission accomplished . . . the dreary day seems very gray but the road . . . the road is still the star! Here's what I ended up with:

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think!

Glad YOU were inspired by the "first one"...LOL...as you know, i never posted this "as is" (other than for VOAT now),but saw the possibilities the very sec i shot it and the end result has made it one of my top five ever shots ...why,you ask?...reminds me of Dylan and his song, "Tangled up in blue" ....that could be my theme song...hehehe
and you know i have your back as a co-defendant...er...as long as it doesn't sully my rep that is ;>
dry today bay bay-gayle saying just let the freakin' candidate have his SAY!!!...sheesh!...why are so many networks and cities afraid of hearing the truth from Kucinich??????????....man, i should be his campaign mgr.
It isn't a gas can. It's a small red overnight case. She didn't have time to pack anything but the very essentials. I don't know what's she is running from, but I know it's the first time she's had the courage to go, and she doesn't know she's leaving that rainbow cast behind her or she'd walk a little faster.
"why are so many networks and cities afraid of hearing the truth from Kucinich??????????...."
Look into who OWNS the networks, my friend. THAT explains a lot . . . follow the money (or stocks).
NICE Tina . . . work on it . . . and then picture a half full bottle of Jack Daniels hitting the passenger floor of an 18 wheel big rig . . . and the driver fishing for it while holding the wheel with one hand . . . .
