Costa Rica's natural wealth is so diverse that only one place is enough to see it all.
That of course is at La Paz Waterfall Gardens & their Peace Lodge. View is from our Villa's balcony
Here we saw five impressive cascades,
The girls through a waterfall
The largest butterfly garden in Central America,

Me feeding a hummingbird

Monkey
Parrot
orchid garden. snake exhibition, frog habitat exhibit, & large cat exhibit.
A traditional house
" La Paz" which took us back to the 1800's culture of the Tico's which let us know how Costa Rican's lived at the time.
We navigated the trails,
which took us through tropical rainforests full of birds, mammals, and reptiles.
We enjoyed lunch at the Big Trout Bar,

then we headed back to our delux Monarch Villa
where we could observe local species of birds, mammals, and reptiles in this beautiful cloud forest, adorned with breathtaking waterfalls and peer at splendid views of nature all from
our
hot tub on our veranda.

We did indeed meet many Tico's . In fact we stayed with two families that we meet on a teacher exchange in 2005. They are now very dear friends and since they allowed me , my husband and my best friends Rich & Lisa to stay with them for two weeks we treated them to a 2 day stay in La Plaz. We rented two delux villas and the Main Monarch Villa for all of us to stay in. We also taught in there school and went to a local dance in their small town of Vencia. The first day at there home we celebrated in typical style and had a traditional Christmas and made Tamales from scratch ( Including harvesting the Plantain leaves. Viseo of this soon to follow.
I really enjoyed my (virtual) stay.
