Nest Items To Fit Into Trash Better

Save money and use less trash bags. I try to flatten boxes that cereal, cake mix, crackers etc.comes in. This way I can get more trash in the trash bag before it needs replaced. Small cans can fit inside larger ones to also reduce the space needed. Even plastic gallon jugs can be reduced in size just by taking the lid off and flattening it. The less trash bags you use, the less trips to take it outside too.

We recycle at that stuff, but I'm always yelling at the family to break that down/crush etc. so the barrel won't fill up so fast, ha ha.

That is a great tip and something i do. Now if I could get the kids to follwo me in doing it. It work be great. I know my middle son loves to stomp on the gallon jugs to make them flat. But the ones I can salavage get filled with water and put in th efreezer in case of a hurricane or long power outage.

I do that too, plus I live out in the country so I have a compost heap!
And I recycle everything! LOL!

I am trying to be good about this trash backs are sooo expensive and just think of mhow much they take up in the land fill
