I never thought i would ever find myself admiring them, but as i spoke to a Catholic friend who like me lives alone with her children while the father of her children celebrates we agreed on one topic
the Saudis were right to tell the President of France to leave his Italian flame at home..
no photos of celebrations while the president carries the child of his lover and a child from his first or second (who is counting anyway?) another time, one big mixed up world..
not to mention the sordid business deals that yes, along side his private life do seem a bit more of a scandle than ever..
So, Yes, it's a big bravo to the Saudis for setting limits
ok women can't drive there or go behind their husband's backs, they can be dismissed with three repetitions of one word HOWEVER there is respect to the bond of marriage, whatever that means in these wild anything may happen and it does times..
So the days of the scarlet letter are gone, but in some parts of the world an unmarried woman may not carry on a liason in public, celebrating the lack of limits ,and free love that may have been charming in the 1960's when no one got married but is not so sweet when marriages break down left and right and leave their victims, children without both parents, spouses of both genders hurt and licking their wounds
it is high time to stop celebrating the lack of difference between in and out of marriage ,
it is high time to stop celebrating the merry go round of relationships
and seeing women as horses for breeding and leaving
so Hurray for Saudi Arabia, you are doing SOMETHING right!
now just treat terrorism the same way and you've got me on your side
