January - the time to begin something. I want to begin to lose fifteen pounds before I go off to my summer place. When I land, I want to be under 130 pounds. I know I will be tempted by all the cajun dishes so I'll only accept weekend invitations. Ok, well, I am not made out of plastic.
Right now, I will sacrifice those four or more glasses of wine each night. I will also not eat the cheese that goes with the wine (or should I say whine). Also, I'll avoid those salty crackers that taste so good with the cheese. Then, I'll want my dark chocolate to counteract the salt. Hey, antioxidants, you know. I'll surely have more energy. I'll use that extra energy to lift something heaver than my crystal wine goblet. I will not open the two tins of See's chocolate that came in the mail. Why do people send you candy in tins? It lasts forever until you open it.
My question and request for free advice is this: How have you managed to lose 15 pounds and how long did it take you? I'd never take diet pills and I'm basically a vegetarian and eat well-balanced meals. I do drink loads of water and I walk every day. Personally, I think my metabolism was slowed down by drinking so much wine.
