In front of the local Goodwill store, there's a barrel full of skis waiting to be purchased by the novice (or wannabe) skiers mesmerized the flutter of snowflakes that fell last week. And what do we see, waiting for those beginners, in the adjacent barrel? Could that be a subtle warning, a "buyer beware"? All I know is, the second barrel was about half-full a couple of weeks ago, and since the ski season kicked into high gear, it's nearly empty....
