In a recent Capture This contest, the theme was mosaic. I submitted a photo of a quilt I had made, and I am pleased to acknowledge that it was one of the winners. You can see my entry here, or at the following link: http://www.gather.com/viewImage.jsp?fileId=3096224744531284&nav=Namespace&memberId=65561
There were many wonderful comments posted, among them requests to see the back of the quilt. It is a "tied" quilt, that is the quilt sandwich of mosaic top, fluffy batting, and backing cloth are held together with knotted strings placed about 3-4 inches apart over the entire quilt. I chose to go one step further and anchored each tie with a small button. There are hundreds of ties and buttons on the back of my quilt.
So, these photos finally tell "the rest of the story." This is for you, Ellie, and all my other Gather friends who expressed interest in the fruits of my labor.

That's a lot of buttons.
Thanks for showing us the button side!

Also loved your comment on the Girl Scout cookies and dieting problem I have:
You had me laughing wth this and oh, can I relate! I can tell you that I'd eat WAY too many of those cookies!
"I can never forget the year I raised my hand at the wrong moment and became chairperson for my daughter's Brownie troop cookie sales. How many cookies would YOU eat if there were cases of them just sitting in your house??? Uh-huh...."
I have only 37 minutes left on my laptop battery that started out fully charged at 6 am when i got up and fixed breakfast for hubby and daughter who was off to work
Looks like you put a lot of time into it to make it so beautiful!
You did a great job!
