I am hoping that we can get started on our weekly drawing challenges this week. Each challenge runs from Sunday to Saturday so you have the week to submit your original drawings to the group. Any medium is acceptable, as long as it is your drawing.
No photography please, there are some very nice groups out there for the photographers; this group is for the person who likes to draw. To enter into our weekly art challenge, you will need to be a member of the group.

Winners will be chosen each week for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Your winning artwork will be featured in a group article and a hearty and sincere congratulations will be given to each winner. :-) Winners will be posted each Monday after the challenge ends.
There will be a different art theme for each week. Each group member can interpret and adapt that theme to their individual artistic vision. You truly are limited only by your imagination!
Weekly Drawing Challenge: Art Themes for the rest of January 2008
January 13, 2008 thru January 19, 2008 : Art theme: Light
January 20, 2008 thru January 26, 2008 : Art theme: Wind
January 27, 2008 thru February 2, 2008 : Art theme: Hearts
I have decided to post the art themes for an entire month at a time to give each group member more time to think about each weekly theme. But please only submit your drawing for each particular week's theme.
Make sure to post your drawing to the group and put Drawing Challenge: Art Theme of the Week entry in your caption field, along with the name of your drawing and any comments that you care to make about your drawing.
Winners will not be chosen because someone is a "better" artist than anyone else. Other considerations will be your creative vision and how you've expressed that week's art challenge theme. So please don't let yourself be intimidated because there may be another group member that can paint a Mona Lisa and you can only draw with crayons [like me! :-)]
If you have any questions whatsoever, please post them in the comments and I will answer them.
I am hoping that this entire weekly art theme challenge experience will be a lot of fun for everyone!

I shall get busy
And Jenni, for the wind theme, at first I thought that I might change that but I decided not to once I started really thinking about it because it was the theme that I came up with the MOST ideas for! My thinking for the wind theme was more of what wind DOES to things, anything that may, ahem (hint hint), blow in the wind, so to speak.
