Recent discussion on gather included discussion between Sam C. and me about teaching children the ideas and practice of sustainability. Going through some of my bookmarks, I finally came across a relevant article (via my own blog roll and StumbleUpon favorites- I knew I had seen it!) from Green Talk and decided to note it here:
Make Sustainability Part of Our Kids' ABCs
(In) October, 2007, Edutopia launched its Go Green Database as a centerpiece of its ambitious plan to assist schools in teaching about environmental awareness. This resource includes an online user-driven database, short video documentations, and the entire October 2007 issue of Edutopia magazine. It also contained additional information to spur the teaching of our youth of the importance of sustainability and our impact on our environment.

I don't like to comment on other people's choices for educating their kids. I don't claim that my beliefs are relevant to anyone else. I wrote a long answer, but deleted it all. Let's just say I believe in public schools for K-12.
Everyone who is interested in sustainability and teaching our children should take a few minutes and look at the database as well all the other education information on the main Edutopia website. Thanks again for the support. It is truly appreciated.
