For those of you who aren't keeping tabs on my personal life, I started my New Year's resolution about a week after Thanksgiving. I decided that I would do a better job of feeding myself, and that meant I was going push myself away from some of my standard fare.
I stopped drinking, or eating, anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup in it I stopped drinking sweetened tea. I stopped eating in restaurants as much as I had been, and only going out to eat if I was with someone on the weekends. I stopped hitting buffets at lunch. (I miss my Friday lunch with the guys from work) I stopped drinking beer.
I'm down to 160 pounds from 167, and so far my exercise regime seems to be working.

KODIAK, Alaska - At least 19 bald eagles died Friday after gorging themselves on a truck full of fish waste outside a processing plant.Fifty or more eagles swarmed into the truck, whose retractable fabric cover was open, after the truck was moved outside the plant, said Brandon Saito, a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service who coordinated the recovery operation.The birds became too soiled to fly or clean themselves, and with temperatures in the mid-teen, began to succumb to the cold. Birds became so weak they sank into the fish slime and were crushed.And as it turns out, for Americans.

I was surprised that the birds would do that too. It's weird. Just being around humans makes animals more like us, I guess.

I think deer have a higher level of situational awareness than do turkeys.

And I'm with ya, Rose (just an ole GA peach) Williams. Though I back-pat Mike for his dieting willpower, I just can't give up baking essentials like caro syrup. Would PECAN PIE be the same with non-fat syrup??!! Heeeck, no. It''s not healthy like an apple that's for sure, but it's the original ingredients like high fructose corn syrup that make a pecan pie a pecan pie.
