My husband recently gave me a great gift: we had a picnic on the beach and he watched the kids so I could take photos of the sunset. I got some great shots and I thought I'd share some of them with you.

There were a few clouds and one cut the falling sun in half like a bar.

The sun slipped beneath the barrier.

The sun began to go down more quickly as it approached the sea. There were only moments between this photo and the last one.

These last three were taken in quick succession while the sun sank into the twilight blue sea.

Then we packed up our kids and headed home leaving the beach to the scuttling ghost crabs and the hunting rays gliding like dancers under the waves.
