Howdy friends, I think I wrote a song. Well, I know I wrote some lyrics but with no musical talent I can't exactly call it a song without some help. If anyone cares to give a shot to adding a melody to these words, it would be appreciated. Maybe one of y'all are blessed with being able to converse in the language of music. I could not even master the flutophone (or whatever the hell it was) back in second grade. And if you're not musically endowed, read it for the memories...... And no Rory, don't correct, I know my lyrics do not follow proper chronological order. To anyone having a problem with that I would like to quote Bill the cat: "BFFTPH". - Robert

"Jeremiah was a bullfrog"
That was so long ago
My girlfriend's name was Lisa
I didn't worry 'bout my soul
Manfred Mann was coming
Sailing in across the waves
And those four downtrodden souls; from Liverpool
They gave us a rave
Matchstick Men on the corner
Selling them cheap tambourines
The music in my heart and head
Lord, was making the scene
Someone popped some acid
And Marilyn took her life
American Pie drove into a levy
And she sank like a knife
Old Tom, he rode on a rocket
And Johnny, he walked the line
And me and you and a dog named blue
We were feeling mighty fine
Then at some point in Ohio
Four rebels hit the ground
Lisa placed a flower in her hair
And was San Francisco bound
After USA lost a lonely war
And DC had thieves in the night
All I remember was the tracks of my tears
As I cried at such a sight
And although I truly expected
Uncle Billy never came back home
I remember they told me he was a hero
We should be proud he was one of our own
There's been a lot of music
Coming at us through the years
But they'll never be another beat
That could alleviate all our fears
Yes I think the music saved us
When we were the precious few
Facing the turmoil of an age
Back there in the days of our youth

i can definatly feel the beat and the order is perfectly posed and ready
Yes, this is most definitely a song! I'm thinking Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young?
grea t work, you are talented, thanks for sharing and keep sending more
so manymemories
Congratulations on finding love also! Isn't it a great thing? I hope you and Gaedith find your way through all of the obstacles that same to be placed in the way of true lovers being together all of the time in the same place. I know exactly how that is, as Terry and I are faced with the same thing. Living in different states, children around the same age with lives of their own and other things that are going to make it hard to acheive but also well worth the effort that it will take to make it all work and to live "happily ever after"!
