This morning I was at the gymnasium of McGann Mercy High School where the Immaculate Conception Council #928 in Riverhead New York hosted the council's Basketball Free Throw Competition. The event is open to boys and girls ages 10-14. Each contestant has three warm up throws, followed by fifteen shots at the basket. If there is a tie in any age/gender category there is a 5 shot shoot off between the tied children.
The winners will go on to the District level which will be on February 9 af the same location. We have two councils in our district. Marion council had theirs on the same morning.
