This article by Heather W. reminded me of one time when my kid was being particularly obnoxious and rude.
At one point she was screaming not very nice things at me and called me a "fat cow".
For some reason, it struck me as funny - and instead of getting angry, I spent the next couple of days responding to all requests for whatever in the same way.
"Mom, can I have...?"
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
"Mom, can you drive me...?"
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sometimes a sense of humour is all that makes dealing with the little darlings doable.

I had a hard time coping with those teenage years and had one child in particular who was very good at pushing my buttons. I'm the kind of person who always thinks of responses like that way too late. I like your style!
This is great stuff flit.
Yet, I'm not so sure I'm past that point in my life. My youngest daughter is 28 and I still get this from her and her 33 yo sister. It just makes me tired.
I'm glad my baby is a boy. At 24, he respects and loves me. That's all I ask.
You handled it so well!
I have always loved the bumper sticker that reads, "I may be fat, but your ugly, and I can diet." ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
