Outsourcing Jobs and Foreign Ownership in US Companies.

Just participating isn't enough. It needs to be done in an equitable way so that as many people as possible benefit. Currently, with no international labor standards, employees are turned against each other in bargaining match for cheapest labor (including child and prison labor with no environmental standards).

Well said. Here it is back. You obviously don't value your middle class lifestyle and are more than eager to be handed over to the global slave population. Don't you know that what you are talking about is the globalist's dream? They even think of ways to foment huge migrations of displaced workers just so they can keep that cheap labor coming and throw out us uppety middle classers who want pay for a decent lifestyle.

Any changes for the better must be done in a manner that benefits all concerned. Just as with the medical and perscription problem in the United States; it is eating its own system alive. Sending manufacturing jobs overseas may benefit the world as a whole, but it is destroying a large portion of the economy in the U.S. Destroying those (financally) at the bottom of the chain in order to benefit the rich investors at the top is a crazy and stupid way to do business. I suppose that would work out just fine if the rich only want to live in a mansion in China or India one day.

You're right. The only people who benefit from globalization are the CEO's, barrons, mogules and ruling class. Ain't nothin' in it for us peasant folk. But then, Rockefeller looks to Maoist China as a successful model for his NWO dream.

This is an interesting take on things. However, is it really fair to workers all over the world, where there are no standards of employment conditions and such, that companies get to exploit workers in nations where the standard of living isn't as high as it (is supposed to be) in the gold ol' U.S. of A.?

How else will the necessary standards be developed, and how else will the overall standard of living in this world develop into where all are equal?

One must crawl in tiny steps before walking. Must these people of the world be told what is necessary for their standards, or are they able over time to develop adequate and acceptable standards on their own?

Well first of all Jim those corporate elites will die.

And second as all the people of this earth are all of about the same intelligence, therefore, I prefer schooling to ignorance. The individual as opposed to the social or the family when it comes to the ownership of ideas and corporations or trades are my preferences.

I also don't care where they live, as we all live on this earth of ours.

we all need to give that time. And I still feel that over the next few centuries it'll be the way that the people here on this earth of ours move.

There will always be crime and prejudices as well as religion of some type, however, still, even with those fears around there will on this earth be a better place for all to live.

However, I also feel that billions will die first in the next few centuries.

Sorry, race to the bottom is a pet peeve of mine. LOL

If standards and salaries go up in India and China, what's to stop companies from moving to, say, Bangladesh? Under the current international system labor just doesn't have the power to negotiate a better life. This is why the middle class in the U.S. has stagnated even as the highest salaries soar. The U.S. developed it's strong middle class in the 1940s and '50s, a period of strong unions, progressive government, and such policies as the GI Bill. Until we have a comparable international system expect to see the wealthiest get wealthier with only limited benefits flowing to everyone else, and with many hurt badly.

Funny you say that, soon many jobs in China will be outsourced to Vietnam, where the wages are even lower.

The U.S middle class is being hurt because the supply of labor in the world has grown in the world since the Communist world/India opened up (something over half the world population). When the supply of workers is high, there is more room to keep wages low. When the supply of labor becomes tight, the workers can organize to demand higher wages. This is begining to happen in China and India (some jobs' wages in India are growing at +10% per year).

One of the problems the U.S has had in the past for trade is that the world has artificially inflated exchange rate of the dollar. Because the dollar is the world's currency of international exchange of choice, it was kept artifificially high, which discourages the construction of factories in the U.S, discourages exports, and encourages imports. The dollar drop of recent years was a long time comming, and is probably in our national interest in the long run.
