In the Shadow of Goliath
Geometric designs
of angles and lines
in weathered patina
define a space
on the river Fore.

Under an open sky
Massive steel structures
Bow down to Goliath
Ghosts of the past.

Goliath standing,
an ethereal intermediary
With huge cables and pulleys
Created the machinery
For the Winds of War.

You photography is blue ribbon stuff. Superb.
The scenes seemed to be steeped in nostalgia. Especially for me...as I'm an engineer and I worked as a seaman on a cargo boat for 6 weeks from Durban to Hamburg.
I could almost smell the sea water.
Who was that in shot 14 or thereabouts?
We traveled around Vermont and then to Martha's Vineyard years ago. Did we pass somewhere near you?
I'm in Massachusetts, close to Cape Cod so you probably passed within 7 miles of me on the way to Martha's Vineyard.
something about the unknown past deeds there.
You've suberbly conveyed the massive structuring, Bob.
Great photo work and ambience.
Very interesting study!
Thanks for your kind words about ALL my photos.
I love pottering in historic places like this, Bob. Some of these shots mad me feel giddy...did you go climbing high up the flight of stairs, as well?
As for the shadow...notice in the Scituate pictures i took the other day once more old mister shadow made his appearance.
And yes, you know I can't see a path, a trail or stairs going up or down without exploring what's beyond. I so wanted to figure out how I could get to the top of Goliath but everything was locked up tight.
Now you mentioned doing errands today, when are you resting that knee????
As for the leg. The brace came off yesterday morn...had another MRI and every thing looks good. Set myself up at the computer with the leg up yesterday....took a long bath with apsom salts....and I'm as good as new.
I dont know now if I like this one even better than the other.. but I do know it's another tremendous article. And the shadow shots are becoming even more wonderful, that first one is pure magic.
