Man Assaults Horse

I recently read an article here on Gather about a guy who caught another guy "assualting" his horse.  And like me and one other person thought it was funny; so okay, I am a little sick.  But about 15 minutes after I posted my comment on the article, I went home for a quick break and was listening to the Blue Collar Comedy channel on sirius, and the"topic" was bestiality in a sense.  Actually, the performer (Pinkard & Bowden) was talking about how much more interesting music would be if the songs were changed to reflect bestiality.  I laughed-loudly-all the way back to work, and thought I would post a souple of the more choice songs he referred to:

To the tune of "If I Had a Hammer": "If I had a heifer, I'd have her in the morning, I'd have her in the evening, all over my land."

To the Tune of "This Land is your Land" (also referring to group sex): "This lamb is your lamb, this lamb is mine..."

In addition, there were a couple of existing songs he mentioned that could easily apply, though I can recall only one of them (so I know, it was 15 minutes ago, but since I walked back into the office I can't even remember where I set my coffee cup): "The Old Gray Mare Just Ain't What She Used to Be."

And God help me, I think this is FUNNY.  I mean, seriously, roll on the floor laughing funny. I am not saying that I think that bestiality is either normal or "okay," but then I am sure some of those people think I am not okay or normal for being straight; it's all in the perception.  But to be honest, the people who reacted in the above mentioned post, coupled with getting in my car and hearing this comedian, are even MORE funny.  I just find it hard to take this stuff seriously; millions of women and children are assaulted every single day, and THAT is tragic to me.  The fact that rapists often get off on a pled-down charge unless they are repeat or violent offenders offends me.  The fact that men (and some women, to be fair) sexually abuse their young children or relatives or family friends and then get a slap on the wrist for violating a completely innocent HUMAN disgusts me.  A man getting caught having relations with a horse?  Disgusting, but hey, funny.  I say if it bothers you, by all means call the ASPCA; I totally agree that it is a crime of sorts, and that perhaps someone should try to find this young man and get him some much needed help.  Or a companion-for-hire.  However, I don't think that is caused irreparable damage to the horse, and I don't think it likely it will be able to press charges or, really, testify.  I respect anyone and everyone's rights to express themselves freely, which is one of the great things about a aplce like Gather.  So I am not criticizing anyone, just exercising my own right to think this is one of the funniest things I have heard in a long time!
