My 2 Frank Lloyd Wright Paintings...For you

I have a very dear friend who used to live in the

Grand Rapids, Michigan area.

While out there visiting, it was my unique and fortunate pleasure to meet a lovely, ebullient couple

who own and enjoy a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

They asked me to come up with two paintings to accomodate their "Prarie Naieve" style. (Their term!)

The colors are a bit dark, but were painted to match, exactly, the original colors of their home.

The Fountain, they requested, and for the second painting

they gave me carte blanche as long as

I worked within the original color pallet.

I was excited with the Fireworks

as this is a rarified subject in painting.

My delight was theirs!

Curt, these are absolutely wonderful. Do you have names for them. I am sure your friends will really enjoy both. Though I like both...I must say I am more partial to the second.

Great paintings. We live in a Frank Lloyd Wright. The airplane type house. 1927 version. Those paintings will work very well.

How cool is that! I've seen the houses from afar but never actually been inside...and no one ever asked me to paint a picture...no matter what....ok that last part was just because I feel silly!

Curt, you should be doing more paintings, I hope that you are able to get a show at some point. You are a very gifted painter, and I hope that it doesn't take people a hundred years or more, to find out just how gifted you are.

I absolutely love Frank Lloyd Wright's houses - I guess it's just the history and all that plus his unique designs for the time - what an honor to be asked to paint something of your own design but using those colors...and you've done an excellent job! So very charming and gay... how I love your imagination and willingness to be original. Art is so personal, I am amazed when an artist can do something on commission and have it come out so stunningly.
