Where did your name come from?
What do you name your kids after? A relative? A sports star? Bible characters?
Did you grow up hating your name?
I was called "Peter Eater", on the school bus, as short hand for "Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater".

Aubrey came from the Bread song.
As far as my children I just liked the names. They aren't named after anyone.
but
*10* for you
Everyone in my family called me, and still calls me, Nikki. I hated my name when I was younger and liked being called Nikki, now I hate the name Nikki with a passion and want to be called Nichole.
My cousin used to call me Nik the Dick.. That was annoying..
Of course, my name is not Biblical. haha!
Children are permitted to call me "Yah" because my godson, who just got back from the Navy -- by the way -- yaaaaay! could not say "Nalita" or pronounce his "N's" as an infant and would cry about it. haha!
I told him,
"It's okay, Baby, to call me 'Yah'. Do not worry about pronouncing your 'N's'".
So the name 'Yah' stuck for the children. But ONLY children may call me 'Yah' or Auntie 'Yah'.
My oldest daughter was named for my Grandma who died two years before she was born, also a person who I thought was a friend as well. I pity my daughter cause the person she shares first names with turned out to be backstabbing to say the least.
My youngest daughter, her first name means Stalking Wolf and Viv will tell you that I love wolves. I prefer unusal names with meaning to them.
I hated my name cause I was called "She-ra" all the time growing up. Now I just find it annoying cause no one ever spells it right.
Donors: My siblings. I must confess that the name was well deserved back then
Now I've clean my act up. Well, sorta!
I hate it. My mother is from Latvia and gave me my heritage with my name. I hate it. I was an awkward child and no one could remember my name. I hate it. Kids used to tease me and call me Ina Vagina. I hate it.
I hate it. I hate it. I hate it.
My mother stuck me with it and never used it. She's called me Suzy for my entire life. No fair.
I only named my youngest son after someone from a movie and it was Gone in 60 Seconds. It just seemed to fit.
and sad
and just funny
My mom heard the name on a Soap Opera, but does not remember which one.
As I got older, I did some research and my name is of Aboriginal origin and it means boomerang. It is also listed as an Irish name as well and me chief.
I like it but people used to call me Smiley Kylee
My hubby was named after his Grandpa William Savage P-----
