I have a blog on environmental issues and was excited to see that Reuters had picked up one of my posts. If you are interested in geothermal power, you might want to take a look:

My sister has geothermal. We are currently trying to build an outdoor wood burning furnace, hopefully to heat our water as well (using only the already downed wood on our farm).

I'd like to read more about geothermal energy, but why use BlogBurst to publish it? It doesn't give public access to your work and membership is by invitation only.

Sam, thanks for pointing this out. I didn't realize that the link would be blocked because my cookies take me straight through to the story. The membership only thing is supposed to be for contributors (it just means that they vet all submitted blogs and reserve the right to refuse any). I simply used the wrong link.

Just to clarify, I don't use BlogBurst to publish anything. I use it to republish my two blogs to major news organizations, should they choose to pick up the stories. The blogs are accessible to all at

Sandy, thanks for being so welcoming. You may find some other things to discuss related to the environment at my blog, and I'll be writing some new articles soon. I'll make sure to keep discussion going at Gather as well as at my external blog, and I look forward to your feedback.

I was pretty excited about the large number of readers for that article, too. I also think that we need to be sure to discuss things with those who disagree with us, as well as with those who agree (but might have more to say, or have more questions). Gather seems to offer a good opportunity to accomplish all these goals.
