Help needed on cleaning blinds.

I wanted to know if anyone knew an easy way to clean horizontal mini blinds?  I hate them. Most all mine are verticle, and they clean so easy.  But these are in the kitchen over the sink. So, do you know an easy way to wash them clean?  Thank you.

thats a great question. i always wipe the down with soapy water. i hope there is a better way.

That is the worse job! I have used the little gadgets they make to make it easier and everything, it is just a crappy job no two ways about it sis! Watch out those vinyl ones can cut your hands too!

I used to have them, there are gadgets at Home Depot and the like which are good for in between cleaning. However, like above your shower or fill up your bathtub with warm water and add vinegar. For more stubborn stains use baking soda gently and they will come clean.
Now, I don't have them because I have allergies and I try to not have anything that can accumalate any dust.

i buy the least expensive vinyl ones so when they get dirty, i toss them:)

I wipe them off once every two weeks (three when I'm lazy) then take them down and clean them in the shower every two months for a more through cleaning.

I just take them down hang them in the shower, and hose them down with some bleach based cleaner. let them sit for a bit and then spray them with the shower hose.

If they are the ones I think they are, they have a special cleaner tool that can dust in between them.

I soak mine in a tub of hot soapy water. After soaking them for about an hour I wipe them off one at a time with a clean rag with pinesol on it.

In the bathtub is where I clean them is they are too big for that I take them outside and use the hose

I soak them in the bathtub with a little liquid household cleaner, rinse, drip dry by standing them on end in the tub and hang.

Dust them first...get off everything you can.
Then, soak them in the bathtub, but you are going to have to wipe them.
If the weather is nice, you can take them outside and hose them down.
Whatever you do, you are probably going to scratch them if they are aluminum.
Have you thought about just replacing them!
No more mini binds for me...
WAIT, I don't even have any curtains!
More than half of our windows are curtainless!

i lay them in the tub, add hot soapy water and was each slat, back and front. Rinse and do it again if needed. No help , I know but...

I have tried many of the ways in which others have mentioned, and the easiest way I have found to this day is to
1 measure the window from where your going to hang them and then
2 get in my car
3 drive to walmart and
4 buy a new pair ,
I have yet figured out a way to get them clean. without leaving spots on them

I too was put them in bathtub....I think I dread this job more than any other HH job.

Buy new ones. Or use an outdoor cleaner, If you are a smoker use a outdoor that says something about oil or greass. (like some thing you use on the road) Take then down and put them in to your bath tub and let them soke awhile. when take your broom and run along then with them still in the water. rinse them off and hang them back up os what I do. If they are not that bad then windex and a clother while they are still up will work just fine. Becarefull if they are metal ok..
