| | Tom Hunter (member since: Jan 12, 2007) - I decided I wanted to devote my life to writing in 1983. From that point, I began a systematic study of fiction. This journey began with Hemingway who led me to other authors such as Ivan Turgenev, Leo Tolstoy, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Thomas Wolfe, Stendhal, Charles Dickens, Homer and others too numerous to enumerate. I completed my first novel manuscript in 1985 and have completed six more since then, all unpublished. In preparation for a move to Russia in 1997, I studied Russian and became fluent. I moved to St. Petersburg Russia for the purpose of gaining material for a novel. Since my return, I have completed two novel-length manuscripts. The most recent of those--"The Butcher of Leningrad" has been rejected by five agents. I am considering throwing it away and starting over from scratch. I am a writer--for better or worse. If I complete this life without having ever published a book, I will die unfulfilled. view profile | ping me Trista W. (member since: May 29, 2007) - I am married and a stay at home mother of 2 rough and wild boys. I spend my days mainly on the computer listening to music almost constantly. I'd rather listen to my music than watch TV. I am a person very interested in history, I think this might be why I am so drawn to Paranormal Investagating. I also would to find out why they stay behind and possibly try to help them in any way I can. I look foward to each investagation hopeing to learn something new each time. view profile | ping me Randall C. (member since: Dec 18, 2007) - 6 feet 1 inch tall. Around 200 lbs, give or take. I like music,(rockin to the oldies) science fiction movies. I'm not an avid book reader, but have an extensive collection of The Destroyer series. I have been in the military(Navy), and perhaps missed my chance to get married, while overseas. So, I am still without someone to look after me. I have no scars, tatoo's, or other distinguishing marks, other than my hairline, has been receding since I was 22. view profile | ping me Miranda Mayer (member since: Jul 19, 2007) - I have written Fantasy stories since childhood; eager to share the fantastical tales that have been percolating in my brains for three decades. My experiences, having lived in various parts of hte world and absorbed many cultures, are infused into the strange windings of my imagination, and ultimately into the worlds I build. I was schooled overseas and stuied languages. I have numerous 'nerdly' pursuits, incuding a violent obsession with all things Regency, a love for good Science Fiction and Fantasy, and a love of creative activities like sewing and graphic design. Jean Auel, S.M. Stirling and Jane Austen (of course) are among my favourite authors. I live near Mount Hood in Oregon, in a cabin with two unruly dogs, an even more unruly husband and a fat, demanding orange cat. view profile | ping me | |

| | Dealing with ADHD and ADD kids/teenagers Parents who have children or think they have children that have or may have ADD (attention deficit disorder) or ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
Talk about the symptoms and signs. Help and suggestions to parents. I as a parent of 3 young children never wanted to face the possibility of any of them having ADD or ADHD. ADD is attention deficit disorder that affects the way a child can focus on his/her learning and attention at home and school. Your child may be ADD if they have these syptoms and you haven't really noticed any hyperactivity. However, ADHD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is also growing more and more common. You can never know too much and someone else may have the key to better understanding it and helping to manage it . Perhaps, you just need advice...this is the place to find out.

Are you sure that the results are under review? Is that something you've heard from Gather? I see that the article has disappeared, but I'm not sure how that means the results are under review.
Thanks for any clarification you might be able to provide.
I heard (from Gather) that they are ensuring all the t's and i's are crossed and dotted in regard to the entries. They have decided to perform a little extra due diligence in this matter, but I have no idea why. Once the winner is finally (re) announced, I'll update the calendar with the result.
Some of us have heard from the winner Jamie C., that she has not been informed of any of these developments, and has only learned of this situration from your article. That seems very strange to me, and highly irregular on the part of Gather. It is to be hoped for the sake of future contests, that such behavior is an aberration, and that an apology and explanation will be forthcoming directly to Jamie C.
Thanks for the putting me on the front cover!! I am truly honored.
