While I was in Disneyworld this summer I realized that something existed that I never thought about before. Normally I don't where clothing with words on it, because it usually is rude or disgusting, but in some of the gift stores I noticed shirts with Spanish on them. Since grade 9 I'm had a liking for this language. Many people in my 9th grade class, including my teacher, knew Spanish, and she even taught a Spanish class for us. Then in Gr. 12 some of the kids, about 1/4 of the class, went on a missions trip to Guatemala. Last year I took a course in University which really showed me the language. I have found myself very fascinated with the words and structure of language, although that isn't enough motivation for me to learn for myself, so I'll probably take another course next year.
But back to the first point, I liked the idea of having shirts with Spanish on them. Which seems very similar to the fetish Koreans have for english (www.engrish.com) , although I would prefer for it to be accurate. I would have gotten one of the shirts they sold there, but I only found two. One said something about princesses, which is the one this that drives me crazy about Disneyworld, and I'm not about to walk around wearing a shirt that says princess on it, even if it only says princesa. It was pretty illegible with all the swirly letters on it. Secondly I found a shirt in at the Mexican pavilion at Epcot. But I'm not a big fan of the Day of the Dead and my mom would probably have gone crazy if I had brought it home. Then the other day, an acquaintance who was visiting from Uruguay was wearing a shirt that made me think about this again. I liked what it said on the front, although it was from a conference so it had advertizing on the back. But it said Si cambio avanzo, which translates somewhat to If you change you will advance.
So since I'm terrible at trying to find what I want via search engines on the world wide web, I wondering if some could help me. I'm looking for names of sites that I can check-out that sell tops with spanish writing on them. It doesn't matter if it is a spanish site.
If you recognize that the texts on the shirts are crude please don't post them.
