1965-2007 Dharbinder Singh Bamrah, 42, internationally known and respected wildlife artist, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2007, following a brief illness.
Dharbinder was born in Kiambu, Kenya in 1965. He lived in India and England, moving to Pensacola in 2003 following his marriage to Valerie: a unique union of love and art.
Dharbinder was a self-taught artist. In his chosen field of wildlife art, he gave life and spirit to his subjects on both canvas and sketchpad.
Dharbinder's works have been shown internationally from South Africa to Hong Kong, Canada, the UK, and the United States in many exhibitions, galleries and one-man exhibitions. He was a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists for the Nations (UK). In 2004 he was elected a Signature Member of the Society of Animal Artists of America. Dharbinder's website is at www.peerlesseye.com.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Valerie Aune-Bamrah; brother, Delvinder S. Bamrah; sisters, Satwinder Kau Hunjan and Arninder Kau Bamrah of London, England; a large extended family, friends and students, all of whom will miss his love, his wit and his quirky grin.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida, 105 North S St., Pensacola, FL 32505.
i first met Dharbinder when i opened an art gallery across the street from his house in 2004. i will greatly miss the long conversations about art technique and mediums we had over cigarettes, a glass of wine and the amazing home cooked indian food he would bring over. this news came as quite a shock to me when i found out last night at the opening of the art show i was at. i think Dharbinder would have thought it an appropriate place for me to get the news. my heart goes out to his family and loved ones at this time of sorrow.
Dharbinder-i will keep an eye on the animals to see your hand in their coloration. - c.c. miranda
