Happy Saturday everyone.  We are having a warm up in Iowa.  It is 38 dgrees at 8 AM and our snow is beginning to shrink.  I think we are to have clouds all day and rain is moving in tomorrow which is ok if the temps stay high.

What are you planning for today?  I am going to the gym and will start taking down and putting away Christmas decorations.

I have fresh coffee so why not come on in and sit a spell.

Good morning!
I just decided to get out of bed. I bought a new bed over the holidays and it's so warm and comfy I'm having a hard time getting out of bed.

Today I'm also going to go to the gym, and I have an arts & crafts with kids project later today. I need to work in some solid football viewing time as well!

I need to go to the gym!!!! I picked up about 10 pounds over the holidays!!! Couldnot believe it when I stepped on the scales!! Depressing!

I'm around, but not for too long as I have dial-up and just in case our son hears back from his Dr. on his tests, (he got a call on New Years Day), so anything's possible, I want to keep the phone lines free.
I'm making soap, have three crockpots going at once just to see how far down they'll melt so I can add more stuff to it.
I like your weather better than ours, though it's """"supposed"""" to warm up here too, at some point next week. HA! Have a great day and I'll try to pop in later.

Not sure what the project will be yet. It's a volunteer project with a family shelter nearby. I need to see what they have. Probably some painting - maybe even some papier mache!

I'm supposed to go watch "Fried Green Tomatoes" at a friends house and then she wants to take me out to Mexican food...so I said, "okay". I just don't get out enough!!! My daughter is going to her "Grandpa's" probably for the night!

Deb, that sounds like fun. It is a good movie. Yesterday I met my gf at the mall, we walked inside for 3 miles, had a light lunch and then went to see "P.S. I Love You"
It was a chick flick but sadder than I thought. It was good though and woo hoo, a little male back view nudity.

Mornin Sadie, How are you today? Got any "hot" plans for the week-end? I have none other than maybe cleaning up a little, I goofed off last week. It was so cold I layed around and watched my Chihuahua push himself as far up against the baseboard heaters as possible. I hate when it is that cold. My brain says winter is 32 degrees and that is enough, makes it hard for me if colder, the bones you know.(SMile)

Well I am off to see what is going on, and maybe will drop back in later if you are still going, I watched a tape on MSNBC and I may write about it. IT of course made me angry. Are you happy about the results in Iowa? The race is on. Our Country the Prize. A lot to think about. It's not for fun (the soap-making), most is donated to local food pantries that have food, but no personal care items, so it's worthwhile that way. Thanks for hoping our son gets a good report - since his tests were for an anyeurism or brain tumor (AHHHHH!) I think I'm just trying to keep busy and catch up on the things that I should've had done already, so that if anything does show up, we'll be able to go right down to be with him.

When I retired I was certain I wanted to work with kids who had problems reading. I started out doing just that, but found that all the kids in the class like to show off their reading skills for me so I often have the better readers do a group read and then share with the class. We used to call it a book report but not it is a share.

I enjoy chats but I have a lot of work to do today. I work on the Social Security "Ticket to Work" program you know, even tho disabled. Got to catch up around here today, and on my obligations here at Gather. I wish all you gals, who are older parents would join my group. It is about the experiences we have had with our older children, as we always stay parents. I first noticed a change when my children let me know a few years ago, I was "out of touch" just a little, there must be tons of stories, making the adjustment from parents to our Babies, to parents of older children. Some are funny, some sad, but always interesting. Ellen B

This is my first time stopping by your chat! I am on dial up and it is sooooo slow.
Just crawled out of bed a while ago, trying to get 'puter fired up to do some major ebay listing today (maybe even make a flyer to send out to some older customers who haven't been around in awhile), about ready for my second cuppa so should be waking up here any minute now!!!
With losing about a third of my income due to company bankruptcy, I really need to get my ebay going, otherwise I am going to have to get a J O B!! Just got denied for the final and last time for my disability (seems like there are 10,000 jobs in Michigan I can do sitting on my butt counting parts - probably for minimum wage - 100s of miles from where I live - but considering there were 160,000 jobs available I could do 3 years ago at my last hearing - what does that tell you??? Either our economy sucks or I am more disabled than I was 3 years ago). (Maybe both)!!!
Supposed to get a major warm up here in Michigan too! Looking pretty dreary and overcast out there today though.
Well, looks like my ebay page just popped up, so guess I better head on over there and see what's happening.
