ok...
My kids are 5 and 6... 34lb and 37lbs not sure on height but I know they are short for their ages..
should I go with:
a booster with a back that you use the car seat belt with... http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2484121
or
a booster without a back?

I am not up on the new car seats for little ones. I hope the link helps.
Consumer Reports Child Car Seat Ratings are good to follow.
The no-back ones have the advantage of being much lighter to carry, and being a lot cheaper. Some stores even sell them in 2-packs now for around $30. You can sometimes find them in character patterns like Disney Princess, or camoflague, too.
The rule is that kids are supposed to stay in a car seat until they are 8 years old or 80 lbs, so something that fits their size and yet can grow with them so you won't have to buy a new one as soon, is the best to look for.
What is sad is ... kids look safe in all these.. and even comfortable.. but the test is being in an accident.. and everything in perfect order and see if it holds to the test!
www.consumerreports.com check out the reports and see what their ratings are!
good luck!
