Which one should I get??

Not sure, seeing as I have no kids. Maybe you could post pics of examples or something because I have no idea what a booster seat is, never having grown up with one myself. but here's a 10 and a comment to help out.

I will say no back.. no back is just as safe. The ones with a back is pretty new to the world these days so its one of them things they are trying to make money.. lol thats how I look at it anyways ;)

Now that you have pics posted, I like the one with the back. I like how it guides the seatbelt to where it is supposed to go for the size of your kid....but that's just me

I would say the one with the back because it looks safer to me but I do not have any kids.

I have been using the no-back style for my youngest for about 2 years now- so just after she turned 4. I don't remember weight, though, sorry!

The no-back ones have the advantage of being much lighter to carry, and being a lot cheaper. Some stores even sell them in 2-packs now for around $30. You can sometimes find them in character patterns like Disney Princess, or camoflague, too.

My kids use the no-back ones, and they work just as well as the ones with backs... IMO. :HUGS:

I have a 5 year old and he is using one that is very similar to the one with the back. I love it. It is not very heavy, easy to move from car to car if you need to move it. My nephew is using the one with no back and he is 4 months younger than my son. I personally don't like it because the shoulder strap doesn't go across his shoulder like it should so his mother let's him put it behind him, which isn't helping him at all. While if he was in one like my son you adjust the back to where the shoulder straps works great. Just like an adult. I am real big on safety.

well when you use the booster seat (no back) then you have use the thing that keeps the the strap over the shoulder, away from the neck. The one with the backs protects their necks, UNLESS their heads go over the top.

Amanda yes good point on the shoulder belt.. i heard its killing alot of kids because the put them behind their backs (which my kids do) so thats why the one with the back is looking good to me!!

we have the one with the back. we like it and if we decide to change our minds when she is older (she is 4 now) the back comes off of it. they are a little more expensive but not by that much. you could always bring your kids with you to the store and see how they fit in each of the seats. maybe that would help you to decide.

I really like the ones with backs, but the ones without backs are really great! They are also great transition-points to sitting in a regular seat.

The rule is that kids are supposed to stay in a car seat until they are 8 years old or 80 lbs, so something that fits their size and yet can grow with them so you won't have to buy a new one as soon, is the best to look for.

A no back booster will fit them longer than one with a back....and age doesn't matter in some states. In Georgia it is 80 lbs, regardless of age. The back boosters will not fit them as long...we had one for Angela, and still had to get her (thank goodness for friends) one that had no back.

I use the no back ones that come with a seatbelt strap adjuster and they fit perfectly. btw, My 4 year old is about the size of your 6 year old.

boy I wish they had the full back booster seat years ago... what I hated most was the kids would fall asleep and fall completely sideways off the seat even with the seat belt adjusted properly... I too am about safety as I was an EMT... can't be too safe and the bigger one might be bulky but ever have a full body cast?????

What is sad is ... kids look safe in all these.. and even comfortable.. but the test is being in an accident.. and everything in perfect order and see if it holds to the test!
