A Night at the Cheap Theater: American Gangster

All I can say is that Denzel still amazes me.  Not only is he wonderful eyecandy, but "my man" can ACT!!!!

I love a movie that is based on a true story.  I suppose this is why I often spend rainy weekends in the house glued to Lifetime Movie Channel.  I love the connection you can feel when you are watching and actor portray a real person versus a made up character.  I raced home at 11:30 last night (it is about 3hours long) and jumped on google to see what I could see about Frank Lucas.  In this article, you will find a couple of pics I found online of Frank Lucas.

 As far as the movie goes:
1.  A black man in Harlem, NY takes over the heroin trade and becomes a mega millionaire.

2.  Don't show it to your kids, there is language, violence, and nudity. 

3.  If you thought you were a fan of Denzel, look out.  You are supposed to hate drug dealers, but it is tough given the human emotion that Denzel brings to the character.

4. It gives a little perspective on the history of narcotics in our country.

Hey: also, I found at the movies that "The Other Bolyen Girl" is coming to theaters.  I wrote a book review on that lovely historical fiction novel.
