Cool list! Is this just for Wombats published "inside" the Gather contests? I thought there were some others that had been published (self-published, e-published, POD, ezine/magazine, mainstream, whatever.) I know that Ken is published as is Perle. I'm published, but won't be out 'til 2008. Just curious. Great list and a lot of work to put it together! Go, Wombats!!!!

What counts as publication? I get published for pay at lots of sites but I never seem to count online publication in quite the same way as off. I have to update my thinking (I think).

J. there was never a consensus taken on that. Since most of us write books, to date publishing contracts for novels, compilations or non-fiction books have been the criteria for "published".

"Ginne — After, Despite, Because" was a Grand Prize winner and published in the Summer 2008 issue of "Memoir (and)" magazine. (Now on sale at Borders, Barnes & Noble etc.)

And the last name is "Philipp" — a trick spelling but we ought to get it right just in case, you know, myriad agents are Googling my name.

Thanks for doing all this. It's a great reference for the wisdom.
