I've been rather... unimpressed with NATO as of late, what with the whole "hey, Canada, America and others, you guys do the fighting when we sit back in the safe zones and say we're helping," thing.
However, even Canada, the Aussies, and the Dutch are all planning to scale back troops by 2010.
Poland on the other hand. Poland is angry. Poland is going to get some, they're increasing their military forces in country by 1/3. 1200 current, 1600 by the end of April.
They figure that Pakistan will be causing more problems in the area, and that more troops will be required to deal with it.
Also note the new helicopters. The countries doing the hard work have been asking NATO for more helicopters, and pretty much everyone but Poland ignored the request.
Rock on Poland, you guys have guts. And now I have to stop making fun of you for that lightbulb thing.
