The wonderful thing about women is that they give everything they have to a relationship. Women are unique in the way they befriend others. They are compassionate and loving in all their relationships. Women can bond with the strength and vigor that men does not seem to possess. Life can be demanding and overpowering, yet a woman will not only strive but she will grow as well as help others to grow during her trials.

The Friday Night Knitting Club is one of those exceptional stories about the strength, friendship and compassion of women. It will have you smiling one minute and crying the next as you read about the struggles and friendship that takes place between the characters. The setting for these events are in the fast paced state of New York. The women meet one night a week at the knitting shop. It is here that they form a bond that is unbreakable and gives each women strength to face the coming week.
The characters are strong willed women of various ages from preteen to middle aged and beyond.. Thus touching every aspect of a woman's life. I felt a bond with these women as they bonded. I could fee the emotions of the characters in a way that only a truly wonderful writer could make me feel. Kate Jacobs is one of those writers who can make the reader feel the passion and pain of the characters.
I recommend this powerful novel to all women, no matter the age. It has something for all ages that will connect them to the characters lives in a personal way. I was surprised at the deep emotion that I felt while reading this New York Time Bestseller. I feel like I also learned something about myself while journeying with these women on their path to friendship and support. I felt a strong connection to the characters in a way that is truely amazing.
So grab your throw and get cozy. Sit by the fireplace and get comfy The Friday Night Knitting Cub and have a wonderful evening with the gals from the knitting club.
USA Today said "Like Steel Magnolias set Manhattan. If you are looking for an inviting group of gals to spend a few winter evening with, pull up your afghan and snuggle in with The Friday Night Knitting Club? It makes you yearn for yarn, even if you're not a knitter."
I have had my knitting needles packed away for a few years. This book made me pull them out and start knitting again.
