kids should be warm otherwise they can't think therefore can't learn. I see nothing wrong with what you did
here right now it is 18 degrees our boiler is out we have no hot water no heat at least we now have water earlier there was no water. My kids got home from school and are more concerned with cuddling under their blankets then trying to get their homework done. Honestly I can't blame them.

I stay at home all day and I keep telling my husband it is a "hard" job and one day he came home early and I was laying in bed cause Carlie was asleep-the one and only time I have done that I might add-and I felt like I was "caught!!"

I think that those students and you as the teacher deserves to be comfortable. Being cold is not a good atmosphere for learning. It sounds like it may be time to get the parents involved with the board of education on behalf of the students.

I think you made the only choice that was acceptable when it comes to the kids. How are they expected to learn when they are cold. ..

Ok........... I feel better now. :)

I got caught yelling at someone on the phone when I was a telemarketer. It was the only time in the 2 years I worked there that I had ever done that but he kept asking me why I called and then when I tried to explain he would say, "Shut up, b@@@! I got fired.

yes, I have been caught breaking th erules. Like taking a longer break than required. But not6hing major. I agree with turning the heat up before the kid sgot up there. But the custodians job is not to yell at you. At least it never has been in any job I ever preforms. Sorry you got yelled at.

It's a shame that they don't provide enough heat to keep everybody warm. You should be able to regulate the thermostat a bit better to provide more control over your environment and keep the little ones all toasty and marshmellow-y

I applaud you for trying to keep the children warm. Logic is if they keep the room warm enough you wouldn't have to seek other methods! LOL

Let's see something I have done at work and got caught? At one job, I was caught providing my cell phone number to another co-worker who will remain nameless. It was obvious as to why I was providing the digits. Everyone but myself was aware the person had been dying to ask me out anyway and finally built up the nerve to ask for my number. I was so embarrassed to get back to my desk, open my email and read "go for it, he's cute" from other co-workers.

No, I didn't go on the date. Sorry---LOL
