Just to come and visit me

Would you walk through a driving rain

Navigate through a storm of snow

Would you steadfastly persevere

Though your footsteps be heavy and slow

Would you bring me a piece of sunshine

Wrapped tender and carefully

Would you carry the necessary weight

To bring your love to me

Since the day that I have met you

Your friendship has always stood

Would you do all that I ask here

Why yes; I believe you would.

*sigh* I like your style. And this poem just really goes with your personal picture. It just seems so right. Nice job with the rhyme scheme. Not so easy to pull off, but you did well. :) I hope to read more.

Robert...I had to come back one more time to tell you (and anyone else who reads this) that I truly believe God places people together for a reason and I think he allowed us to become friends as well. He has blessed my life with you as a friend and I will always consider you to be one of the best gifts I have ever received...and all because of gather. I know you will do great things Robert. I believe in you and because of that, I would do all you ask and much, much more because you are you and that is why you are loved so much! LOL, the Lord just gave me the opportunity to put actions where my pen is. One of our superintendents (and my friend) just blew his motor on the way back from Houston. He's on the side of the road in Columbus. He just called me. What would the Lord think if I didn't leave right now and go get my friend? Well, I'm on my way......
