With the New Year upon us (and the spending season over) many of us are starting to think about how we handle our finances and money. My husband and I are no exception. We handle our finances together (all of our money is pooled in one account and we pay all of the bills together) - however, we are the only ones in our families who do this. All of my in-laws have his and her checking accounts and each person in the couple is responsible for certain bills.
How do you handle finances if you are married - jointly or seperately?

Ok, that's an oversimplification. He makes most of the money, we have a joint account, and I handle the account and bill paying because his memory isn't so good; it works for us.
