After enjoying the shops that are offered in Apalachicola, we decided it was time to enjoy the outdoors and nature. Apalachicola is a beautiful town that was once the third largest port on the Gulf of Mexico.
As we strolled along the waterfront, we admired the pelicans that had perched nearby.

Seagulls were performing stunts in the air, but I captured this one taking a break.

Small birds were feeding in the grass.

A beautiful sailboat with a dingy was anchored in the river as the fog moved in.

Shrimp boats are moored along the river walk.

This boat was docked along the way. Its skull painting was trying to intimidate those that dared a glance.

Off the beaten path, is a Marina with shrimp boats lining both sides. There was one that seems to have suffered fire damage.

As the day turned to dusk, the fog became thicker. The shrimp boats remained, peacefully rocking, tied to their moorings.

Sue and Dorine, thank you both.
Mint, I am glad you enjoyed it. It got rated low because some people are very childish.
Marilyn, thank you. Pelicans are awesome animals.
Magi, thank you for coming by. I'm going to revisit some of your older articles to leave a comment on them again.

Nice quote by Pablo.

William, it was nice...warmer there than here and overcast instead of raining. Couldn't have asked for a more pleasant day. Thanks for stopping by.
JoAnn, thanks.
Lyla, I am in the process of working on a few more things (including another photo essay & two book reviews). Hope you have a good week.
That simple picture of the sailboat with the fog moving in would look wonderful as a picture to hang in my living room!! And I just love the last picture!!
Wilma, pelicans really are incredibly graceful...but I have to agree with you about their looks. Let me know if you want a print of the picture. Thanks for stopping by.
Victoria, thanks for stopping by. I completely understand about being busy :) Thanks for featuring this.
