1/02/2008 - Gather Prayer List

It's 2008 and blue skies are heading our way! I am ever hopeful that 2008 will be a better year for everyone! Thank you for all who have come here today to join me in prayer. Daily we lift up our prayers to God together and like the grains of sand and the droplets of water that created the magnificant Grand Canyon, so can our prayers make an impact in the lives of others. Please know that it may seem to be a simple gesture but it isn't. Prayers can move mountains and save lives.

 

Many years ago one woman who wandered too far away from a prison camp in Russia was discovered by a guard. He raised the rifle to shoot her. He tried three times, as there was no forgiveness for her mistake. When the rifle would not fire the third time too, he told her, "You must have a praying Mother, now go back to camp quickly!" Even this guard recognized the power of prayer!! Amen!!

Please leave the first name of the person that you have prayer requests for,
you don't have to post the details, our God is an Awesome Omnipotent God who hears our prayer and knows who they are for. Prayer can make a difference! May the Lord be with you today and always. Please let me know if you want to be added/deleted from this list.

Dear Lord,

Thank you beloved Father for the gift of your son and his sacrifice so we can be forgiven of our sins. We thank you for providing this path for us to dwell with you one day in paradise.

As we continue to celebrate the birth of your son through the year, we ask for a peace to come over the earth and that all will be drawn to your love.

We thank you for hearing our prayers. We thank you for all you are doing on our behalf in our lives.

We pray for our world and we pray for all other nations, and we pray for America! We pray that America which was created looking for your guidance and blessings will get back on track and that the lives of all of our citizens will improve this year. We ask your guidance in the election of our leaders that you will guide them in their decisions, We pray for our troops, the men and woman making sacrifices so that our freedoms are intact. It is heart wrenching to hear each day of those young people who have paid with their lives or have been severly injured or disabled for life, please be with them and their families,

Lord, we pray for the victims of crimes, that you will not only heal them physically, that you will also heal the trumatic damage they endure. Lord, please help the married and unmarried expectant woman. Send them support, love and understanding for them and their unborn children .Lord, please help the hurting who find it hard to trust or believe in you or anyone else. Lord please help all of us when we go through challenging times that stress us out, help us to find your peace of mind.

Lord, give us all more understanding and patience for those around us. Give us the wisdom to
see beyond the surface of a situation to the heart of the matter. Let us have the compassion that you have towards others. Especially those who are different from us, Lord. we pray for our lives that you will heal our bodies and meet all our needs.

All these people all need healing and miracles Lord. Please touch their hearts and lives with your everlasting love. We also lift up in prayer all the children who are being born and adopted, for the birth parents and adopted parents as well. Especially for Kathleen and the baby she and her husband are waiting for. We pray for all on Gather who are hurting right now. We pray for those struggling with diseases like cancer or heart disease, aids, mental health issues and the handicapped who struggle with their challenges. Lord open others eyes so they can see that the disabled are people with feelings too! (I am disabled) Please help the veterans of all the wars we have had. Many were permanently injured or suffer from the nightmare they lived through, guide others to reach out to them so they don't feel their sacrifies were in vain. Lord give us all blessings and show us all your love through others. Use us to show your love through us too! Lord let us know and feel your everlasting love in our lives. We ask That you will grant us love in our lives, We all need love. We ask you to help us all through all our trials and tribulations and draw us closer to you. Guide us in our lives as we know you know what is the best path for us. Your will be done. Lord there are many we know that are strugging financially and can't afford to pay bills or buy their medicine, please guide those in financial trouble out of it.These are trying times Lord, so many of our friends and neighbors are struggling, please help their lives to improve in 2008. We ask that you touch the hearts of those involved and end the war bring our troops home soon!

Please contact me with updates on those we are praying for so I can relay it to those who are praying. This is now called the Gather Prayer List, as it is belongs to all of us on Gather. I am only providing this forum for eveyone. I do my best to daily maintain this list. If I have made an error or missed your request, please let me know. I don't want to make mistakes and I need to be reminded some times. I now am including the name of the person making the requests. Someone was concerned that a particular prayer with their first name and last initial that they did not understand and thought it was about them. I couldn't find the name of the person making the request. I decide to now include the name of the person asking for the prayers so if this happens again it can be verified. Accuracy is important to me as well as not hurting anyone's feelings.
