Everyone is labelling themselves and each other as Conservative, Liberal, or something else altogether. Which am I? I'd like to know.
Here are my specs:
I am a Pentecostal Christian and regularly attend an Assemblies of God Church.
I am against the death penalty.
I am against abortion.
I am against euthanasia.
I am a staunch supporter of civil rights and equal opportunity.
I also support human rights and vehemently oppose the treatment of prisoners at Guantanamo.
I want the environment to be preserved and protected. That makes me a tree-hugger, I guess.
I support rehabilitation for criminals.
I believe that people of both genders, all races/ethnicites, religions, and political affiliations should be able to respect each other and live and work in peace alongside each other. AKA I am against discrimination or persecution of any sort.
I am against the war in Iraq-I want us out now.
I am against drugs and marijuana.
I want illegal immigrants to be naturalized. I want the wall torn down. I want to establish better relations with Mexico so that all immigrants can enter legally, but not to deport or punish illegals.
I want education to be inproved vastly. We need to learn from our past to avoid making the same mistakes in the future. If the children are our future, they need to know good English and math skills, and need to be knowledgeable about science and history. If they are familiar with the world's history, they can prevent mistakes.
I am against terrorism, but terrorists are still people and should have the same rights as all citizens accused of crimes.
If there is any other information I should provide, please ask.
In response to Joe T.: I am against discrimination against gays/lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered persons. As a Christian I think the practice is wrong, but many of the people who are one of the above are perfectly nice people and all are people, humans, and have the same rights as everyone else.

But thanks anyway.
Take away party affiliations and our country's next president would probably be the guy down the street (not the multi millionaires we currently have running).
So, as to what are you?
I now pronounce you (abracadabra...poof) independent?
The point is, do any of the candidates for President speak for you? They sure don't for me!
I'm especially with you on discriminating against anyone. It's so wrong.
There is, however, something that is called discrimination by the 'liberal media' which is merely a standing up for one's own rights.
If I believe that homosexuality is a sin, should I be forced to accept a pastor who is homosexual so that he will not be discrimnated against? I can call him brother by faith in God, but in truth, I'd have to say, I would honestly believe that he wasn't right yet.
Yet, every man or woman who is homosexual, God loves and I love. I love my alcoholic brother, too. But I couldn't have him for a pastor, either.
Most of us have conservative feelings on some things and liberal on others. I agree that we should not try to box ourselves in.
The assumption that republicans are all conservative and democrats are all liberal is also false.
I too am an American. I believe that everyone should have the ability to live and die how they please. I do not believe there should be guns and violence, but hey that is the human nature to hate as well as it is to love.
so live free hot american and let your guidence be your guide.
