One of my goals for 2008 is to recycle more (prompted in part by my industrious almost-five-year-old who has become very conscious about recycling!).
So I thought it might be useful to get some input on ways to recycle common things since there are probably many more ideas then I could possibly come up with myself.
And the one I'd like to start with is sitting right here in a pile on my desk -- the Christmas cards I received this year.
What do you do with your old Christmas cards? Do you have any creative ways to recycle them? Any suggestions or tips on ways to reuse them? Let's share some ideas :-)

I don't really have a use for them myself~
I like Becky's idea of using them as tags though.
I was going to keep a few that I thought were really neat and put them in my art journal, and Alex (my little recycler) wants a couple for her journal as well.
These are great ideas so far, I may actually find a use for every single card by the time we're done -- wouldn't that be great, I wouldn't be wasting any of them!

cover the inside of the front door
for the next Christmas.
Get a whole bunch of jar lids...
Cut all the cute little pictures from the Christmas Cards, (preferably to the size of the jar lids you have at hand...)
Make small hole in Jar lids,
pull yarn, string, fishing line, twine--through the hole in jar lid
Insert photos or pictures into jar lid,
tie your yarn, etc...
X-mas Tree Ornaments....
My daughter learned this in Kindergarten...I still give her old teacher my cards every year..
Don't forget freecycle.org when you are thinking about recycling. You'd be surprised at what junk you have that other people might want.
Thanks for posting this in Inane Gorilla Comments!
Those albums/books are very special to me. And someday they will reveal a lot about myself to my descendants.
