I walked
No, hopped from rock to rock
My attention only on the next
Spot
I would place my foot
This one jiggled
Throwing my life off balance
And I slipped into the
Darkness below
It was not deep
But cold and fast
And I could not breathe
My arms flailed
Like a shot bird's wings
And I descended down
Further
A crash and then I shattered
Into a million sharp stinging pieces
Blood floated softly away
Absorbed by the ethereal rush around me
My tears froze, dropped like lead
The sheets twist around my
Legs and feet
I awake sweaty and tired
The morning sunlight
Laying next to me
