In my hometown, I met a weird guy,
that was messed up, on methamphetamines and methadone.
Unbeknownst to him, his brain had made a metaphysical change,
so he measured time by meters and kilometers, and didn't even think it strange.
School was never a barometer of knowledge,
as geometry, astrometry, nor arithmetic had half a centimeters' chance.
Hexametric lines of Iliad, were lost back in the '60's days,
so when he was asked for repetition, his face was stone and his eyes turned to glaze.
A meteorologist predicted a meteor shower,
falling as a flamethrower, through an amethyst colored sky.
So the guy wore a helmet as a shower cap, and a robe of metal vesture,
thus he ran out and met the comets' rain, totally ignoring his neighbors' frantic gesture.
That time was metamorphic, in my life of days,
as I searched all the metaphors, to understand the reasons, "Why?"
His methods of dealing with life, were different than the sounds of my own metronome,
so as the meticulous counseling failed, my hope plummeted with each perimeter drawn.
The metro police were called, about a crazy guy,
and they must have broken their odometers, as they rushed to Carters Way.
I remember how methodically they took him down, with him in their symmetrical sight,
so sometimes the timetable of metachromatic events replay, preventing my sleep at night.
Metaplasia thoughts fester, more and more,
displeasure of life metastasizing daily, as my mind repeats, "Life metes out unjustly!"
A Methodist officiated the cemetery service, as metallic chimes played upon the wind,
so as I turn and walk from my brother, and my friend, I hope I meet a better end.
