My TBR mountain is finally organized onto 5 bookshelves! I have enough books to keep me reading for years- it feels like 'money in the bank'!! I read mostly literary fiction.

What about adding my novel "Invisible Hand" to the pile? It's published here on Gather so you don't have to make a trip to the library to get or return it. It's also free so it can cost you only the time you spend reading. It also has comments so you can see what you are getting into. And if you don't like the Gather ads you can also read it at:

As a last "sales point" if there's something you don't like or don't understand you have the author's attention and he will respond. Try it, you'll like it. :-)

My TBR bookcase is only 3 shelves (those I own).... I am jealous of Melinda's 5 shelves, but keeping it to 3 is part of a 'resolution' a couple years ago to make use of my city & county taxes and use my county library system.

Saves me a bucket load of money (even with used book stores, thrift shops, etc.) and I am helping their books checked by resident average, if such an statistic is used.

I used to love to read , but now as you know I care for 4 of my family who are disabled so now my chill out time is on here chatting with my friends , My hubby still loves to read and falls asleep most night reading a book :) xx

Chrissy, I read Skipping Christmas. It was very cute. I haven't read the other.
Deborah, I have a list of books I want to read, but like you, last year I culled everything off my bookshelves that I didn't want to keep forever. Now I only include the books that are physically in a pile from the library.
Marilyn, I love books on CD! I have one going in my car almost all the time, and listen while I commute.
Margaret, I hope you get the chance to enjoy books again.

ah... the to be read pile... and to think! I just bought more books...sheesh.
okay, here we go....I just finished Rusty Nail, and an ARC for a book not even out.
Now, I am reading Writing from the Heart, and still have to finish A is for Alibi. I now have added Ninja Soccer Moms, and Latte Trouble to my stack to be read. Whew. THanks for asking!

I'm not home so have to picture my bedroom dresser with the pile of books. Let's see, there's _The Cobra Effect_ by Richard Preston, _March_ by Geraldine Brooks, and I forget the others.

Nice choices. Because I sell books, I read and listen to a lot of books. Next to my sink, in my boombox for housework, is the audio version of the Philip Dick collection 'Minority Report.' In the car, I have the audio for 'No Country For Old Men.' At work, I'm reading an advance reading copy for a book called 'Simplexity' by Jeffrey Kluger - apparently already published in the UK, I'm calling this one as the next 'Tipping Point.' Lastly, in - other - areas of the house I have a copy of 'You Get So Alone ...' by Bukowski and 'Motel of Mysteries' by David Macaulay.

Thanks Luke. I listen to a lot of audiobooks. Since I first posted, I've also listened to a book on identifying your strengths, The Year of Living Biblically (which I reviewed the other day) and have just started the Bible, which I've read before but never all the way through. It's on my list of goals to have it completed by 2009.
