Poinsettia Cocktail

This cocktail recipe came in my Recipezaar newsletter. I thought it sounded so good, I just had to share! Sounds perfect for New Years Eve.

1/2 oz Cointreau liqueur
2 oz cranberry juice
4 oz champagne

Pour Cointreau and juice in a champagne flute; top off with champagne.

It would be great with anything! Hell, I'll even drink the champagne straight...a little bit of a refreshing switch from me swilling down vodka all the time...LOL!

I was thinking Mimosa's for New Year's Eve and then realized I didn't know what champagne to put in and so far have not gotten any suggestions. This is the answer. Especially if it tastes good. Glad you posted this. Oh, no. You didn't say what kind of champagne either. Tell me a kind. You and David. I knew I didn't know what the other stuff was, but didn't matter, the man at the liquor store would, but I no longer trust him to pick out champagne for me. I'll trust you.

Lynn, a good champagne for a decent price is Martini and Ross Asti Spumante. It's my personal fave!

Spicy bloody marys are always a fave here!

Okay. I just had to let you know the Spumante is in the frig and the Cointreau is here beside me, if for no other reason than I could spell it correctly. It's in a cute little bottle. I'll keep the bottle after it's empty. We have a huge jug of cranberry juice. We are ready. I'm going to cut down on the champagne and the Cointreau so I can make it to midnight. Hope you have a great evening. And thanks for the tip. Someone my husband works with knew all about the champagne and the Cointreau and said it was really good stuff. It never hurts to learn something new. Thanks.
